Privacy policy
Last updated:
The short version: Evenfade keeps nothing you write. It has no account, no history, no cloud, no ads and no analytics. The only data that leaves your phone is what is needed to check a purchase.
Evenfade is published by Sullivan Floricourt, sole trader, trading as Kotchi Studio in France (“we”). This policy covers the Evenfade app on iPhone and Android, and this website.
What you write
The text you type in Evenfade exists only on your screen, in the app’s memory, while you write. When you press Release, or leave the writing screen, it is gone.
- It is never saved, on your phone or anywhere else.
- It is never sent: not to us, not to RevenueCat, not to anyone.
- We cannot read it, recover it or analyse it, and nothing is used to train any model.
When you switch to another app, Evenfade covers its screen, so your text does not appear in your phone’s app switcher either.
What stays on your phone
To remember your choices, Evenfade stores a few settings in the app’s local storage, on your device only:
- the scene you chose, and whether sound, music and vibrations are on;
- your language, if you picked one in the app;
- whether you have already seen the introduction;
- the number of times you have released something (a number, never the text);
- which purchases are unlocked, so Premium also works offline.
None of this is sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it. On iPhone, these settings can be included in your own device backup, like any app’s settings; the text you write never is, since it is never saved.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Evenfade is free. Premium is a one-time purchase made through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). They handle the payment: we never see your name, your card or your Apple or Google account.
To check and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that acts as our processor. When the app starts, and when you buy or restore, RevenueCat receives:
- a random, anonymous identifier, created on your phone the first time the app opens. It is not linked to your name, your email or your Apple or Google account. If you reinstall the app, a new one is created, and Restore purchases gets your Premium back;
- your purchase receipts: the Apple receipt or the Google Play purchase token, and when the app last checked them;
- basic technical details, such as the type of device, its operating system, and your locale and currency.
RevenueCat does not receive what you write, the questions you open or the scenes you use. Its own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy-policy. Apple and Google process your payment under their own privacy policies.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking
Evenfade contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no social media code. It does not use your advertising identifier and does not track you across apps or websites.
Links that leave the app
The Need to talk? page in the app opens helpline websites, or your phone’s dialer, only when you tap them. Those services have their own privacy policies.
This website
evenfade.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.
On the home page, you can write a thought and release it, as in the app. It never leaves your browser: it is not sent and not saved (no local storage), and the browser’s spell check is turned off in that field. The sound, if you turn it on, is loaded from this site.
Age
Evenfade is intended for people aged 13 and over. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to give back or erase on our side. For your purchase history, contact Apple or Google. If you have a question about the purchase data RevenueCat holds for Evenfade, write to us and we will help. Depending on where you live, you may also contact your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
